PRODUCTION OF "BREAD OF LIFE"

After two intensive months of research and planning, the project receive the blessing and support of the Archdiocese of Atlanta and began principal photography.  With the help and experience of Richard Martin as a communications leader, the team was able to schedule and interview some of the most dynamic speaking Catholic priests in Atlanta.  To capture the amount of extra footage that was needed, the team embarked on a 3 week visit to some of the most amazing churches in the states.

Savannah became the first stop in the month of April as the team was given full permission to film the Mass of Bishop Boland inside the breathtaking cathedral of St. John the Baptist. With so much inspiration inside the cathedral, a full weekend was spent filming extra footage for the film.

The team began its second week of travel to the city of St. Louis, MO., where with permission of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, footage of the sacrament of confirmation celebrated by Archbishop Burke was filmed.  One of the most magnificent spots was found in the historic Oratory of St. Francis de Sales in St. Louis.  With so much history and architecture within the city, the footage that was filmed really added a lot of character to the finished film.

With the historic visit of Pope Benedict XVI, the team landed in New York, NY. for the final weekend of filming. With the masses of crowds, great festivities and beautiful churches, the city of New York was a well welcomed stop for filming.

The editing process began in late April for what was truly a very challenging month in coming closer to completion.  With five weeks left for the official release date in the month of June, the final edited copy landed in North Carolina to have the beautiful score composed by the talented Jonathan Brodmann.  With much inspiration, the score was nothing less than perfect.  With two weeks before release, the finished master copy was turned in for mass production in the state of Indiana.  A day before the official release, the final package was received in Atlanta and on its way to the Eucharistic Congress for its first day of release to the public.

Catholic Distributors will be starting a new marketing campaign that will be in action the beginning of June '09 as the 'Bread of Life' expands across the country.  This June the team also returns to the Atlanta Eucharistic Congress to the celebrate the first year of the 'Bread of Life' DVD.  Later this fall, "Bread of Life" will also debut on EWTN.
